ni dieu ni maître
ni dieu ni maître explores the unpredictable forces that shape life, from the randomness of cellular birth to the collective surges of revolt, from instinctive attraction to the quiet refusal of order. It is a meditation on chaos as a generative principle, where mutation, accident, and encounter become the true engines of evolution and imagination. Rooted in both biology and social thought, the project questions how meaning can emerge without hierarchy. In nature, trees sustain one another in complex, self-organized networks. Might this horizontal entanglement offer a model for life without masters? Or does the rejection of structure inevitably slip toward collapse?
Abstraction becomes here a gesture of resistance, a language that disrupts clarity, opens ambiguity, and makes room for affect. It resists didacticism in favor of tension, offering neither answers nor narratives, but fragments from which to think otherwise.
ni dieu ni maître embraces disorder not as destruction (even if sometimes destruction is necessary), but as a fertile ground - a space for reimagining how we live, relate, and create. In a world where nothing is prescribed, where form emerges through rupture, it asks: what might it mean to live without a plan?
