Eléonore Piret El Maysour is a French-Moroccan conceptual artist working between Brussels, Fez, London, and New York. Her practice spans installation, image, sound, and text. Rooted in personal and situated research, it explores memory, materiality, and the silent residues of history. Drawing from her Moroccan background, she approaches postcolonial questions through a lens of deconstruction - attentive to gestures of erasure, resistance, and transmission.
Often working from collected debris, forgotten spaces, and intimate archives, her installations interrogate the politics of display, the opacity of institutional frameworks, and the frictions between invisibility and presence. Writing plays a central role in her work, not as commentary but as a parallel space of reflection, poetic disruption, and re-inscription. Trained in photography, she holds a BA from London College of Communication (UAL) and is currently completing her master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels
Her recent projects include solo exhibitions at OH Studio in Hiroshima (Moment, 2025) and Espace Vanderborght in Brussels (where dust gathers, 2025), as well as group exhibitions at Copeland Gallery (London) and Millennium Film Workshop (New York). She was awarded the UAL/LCC Alumni Prize in 2024.
