information and cv
Eléonore Piret El Maysour is a French-Moroccan conceptual artist working between Brussels, Fez, London, and New York. Her practice unfolds across installation, image, sound, and text. Rooted in situated research, it approaches memory through matter, gestures, and the quiet residues through which histories persist.
Her work often begins at the margins of spaces in transformation - construction sites, coastlines, fragments displaced by urban or historical processes. Through acts of gathering, listening, and assembling, she works with materials already marked by circulation and erasure. Drawing from her Moroccan background and from encounters with specific territories, her research explores how memory settles in landscapes, infrastructures, and overlooked materials. Her installations attend to the peripheral forms of history- the fragments, sounds, and minor gestures that remain after the passage of rational systems of organization. Writing forms an integral part of her practice. It operates as a parallel space of reflection where anthropology, philosophy, postcolonial questions and poetic language intersect, opening alternative ways of approaching memory, transmission, and the relations between humans, matter, and environment.
Trained in photography, she holds a BA from London College of Communication (UAL) and is currently completing her master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. Her recent projects include solo exhibitions and residency at OH Studio in Hiroshima (Moment, 2025), as well as group exhibitions at Espace Vanderborght in Brussels (where dust gathers, 2025), Copeland Gallery (London), and Millennium Film Workshop (New York). She was awarded the UAL/LCC Alumni Prize in 2024.
