domestic sonic interface

domestic sonic interface is a performative sound device in which steps functions as a sonic interface. Contact microphones placed on the floor capture the vibrations produced by each step. These signals are sent to a modular synthesizer, where they trigger and modulate sound in real time. Walking, striking or sliding the heel across the surface generates a sequence of sonic events. The system transforms the domestic space into a responsive instrument, the body operates as a controller, activating a feedback loop between movement, material vibration and electronic sound.
